Stepwise visualization of Workflow
There can be major benefits to displaying information to OR teams, that is specifically tailored to the particular stage a procedure is in. Think about it. Does one need the same information during cutting time, as during preparation of the room? Most likely, the answer is no.
Information about positioning of a patient is great at the start of a case, but after the patient has been positioned, no longer so useful right? Not as much as other indicators you would now like to have visibility on now, such as patient vitals, video camera images, allergy alerts or facilities / environmental conditions.
In order to provide more elaborate and dynamic, stage-specific information about ongoing workflow, the ORCockpit+ platform can come equipped as a larger, double screen version; the ORCockpit+ Plus. In the double version, one screen will be the regular in-room dashboard, where the second, additional screen shows specific visual instructions on workflow, relevant to the stage the case is in.
ORCockpit+, with double screens – the left cockpit provides additional stage specific workflow support.
This extended Workflow screen for ORCockpit will display additional and visualized information such as:
- safety checklists before start of cutting time
- instructions on positioning
- surgical planning or scorecards
- cutting techniques
It is possible at all times to manually select another process step in order to be able to access the information from other stages. The goal is to always provide an overview of what is essential to keep track of at that very moment. This increases coordination and communication between team members.
Results? Fewer errors, better informed and satisfied staff, higher patient safety levels and less time lost in finding information, all resulting in higher team productivity!
