Job Summary

As the Senior Software Development Manager/ Lead Developer, you are responsible for getting the best out of the Development team, by keeping them engaged, helping them to grow in their careers, and empowering them to do what they are capable of. Not only will you be leading this small innovative team. You will be hands on building and helping in architecture, design and development and working with the latest and great technology to build software solutions for healthcare institutions. You are responsible for ensuring best practices in this team, helping to maintain and create a great high performing culture, and working with other stakeholders, including the management team, to ensure alignment with company goals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of highly ambitious Developers and Software Architect to help them grow their skills, enhance their knowledge of our systems and their ability to get things done;
  • Lead and advise on architecture & investment needed in technology stack and system management;
  • Deliver customer-driven products in accordance with the (healthcare) quality requirements in a rapid-growth company;
  • You are the ambassador for technology best practices, frameworks and assisting in educating and motivating our Development team;
  • You are comfortable shaping and sharing company’s technology strategy with management, partners, customers and other stakeholders;
  • Writing and maintaining technical design documents;
  • Deliver management reports to the management team.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field;
  • Proven track record and proficiency in software development (+7/+10 years): backend or frontend (and thorough knowledge of the other);
  • Knowledge of CleanCoding and TestDrivenDevelopment would be a big plus;
  • Several years of experience in managing/ leading a Software Development team;
  • Knowledge of the following languages & frameworks: PHP, JavaScript, HTML, T-SQL, Angular, Laravel and UML;
  • Agile way of working/Scrum. Continuous integration. Microsoft Azure (not required);
  • Previous experience in the healthcare industry or in rapidly growing startup is desired but not required;
  • A confident and proactive leader that has experience presenting at senior level both internally and externally;
  • Excellent technical, time management and problem-solving skills;
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal (English and Dutch).
